Family Voices Matter: Turning Lived Experience into Advocacy and Action Keynote with Pam Lanhart Throughout the last 3 decades, family voices have played a powerful and often catalytic role in shaping how the substance use has been understood, addressed, and responded to—especially when systems were slow to act. Family advocacy has influenced policy, public perception, treatment access, and accountability in several keyways. In this presentation Pam Lanhart will share critical ways that we, as family members and allies, can be effective in working to changes systems that cause harm to our families. About Pam Lanhart: Pam Lanhart is the Founder and Executive Director of Thrive Family Recovery Resources, a Minnesota 501c3 and the only Family Centered certified recovery community organization in Minnesota. Pam currently serves on several local and national advisory councils, including The Minnesota Governor's Advisory Council on Substance Use and Addiction and has been involved in disrupting and changing the narratives around how families, communities and systems of care can respond humanely to substance use as a public health issue. Pam is the 2021 recipient of the National Faces and Voices Vernon Johnson Award for her passion in advocating for families.
