We’re bringing together queer leaders, recovery advocates, peer specialists, providers, and community members to share stories, resources, and actionable ways to support the LGBTQIA+ recovery community. Topics will include: Queer lived experience with substance use disorder and recovery LGBTQIA+-specific recovery resources Allyship and advocacy within recovery spaces Strengthening peer recovery support skills Panelists include representatives from Aliveness, Twin Cities Wellness Center & Recovery Gym, Wilder Foundation, HRC & Hamline University, and other community organizations. 1.5 Ethics CEUs Available Food and beverages will be available for purchase until 6:00 PM. We are proud to introduce the Breaking the Surface Summit, the first-ever Northern Minnesota Recovery Summit bringing together the recovery community and the professionals who serve them. This landmark event is designed to expand understanding, challenge stigma, and reinforce the belief that everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and supported on their journey to recovery. Attendees can expect a full day of meaningful programming, including morning and afternoon keynote speakers, educational presentations, a panel discussion, and a resource fair with vendor opportunities.
